7 card hi-lo poker - Simultaneous
declaration
Here, each player declares high, low, or
both by using chips to voice his decision. The usual
method is for a player to place his fist on the table,
and, at a signal, to declare by revealing chips: none
for low, one for high, and two for both ways.
This type of betting will reveal whether you opponent
has a strong hand one way or another. If you make random
guesses you will probably win half of the pot half of
the time, and none of the pot the rest of the time.
When your opponents bet is half as large as the size
of the pot at the time he calls, you can expect your
value to be negative and therefore should fold.
